The  Solving for X  Workshop

Is "networking" a dirty word for you?

Ever wonder why some people meet their professional goals three years before the end of their 5-year plan?

Do you find that when you're in a room with people you don't know you just want to sit in the corner?

If you've answered yes to any of these questions, this workshop will change your entire view of networking. Unlike other workshops that focus on such superficial elements as eye contact and handshakes, Solving for X is an action-reflection based course that allows you to break down your own barriers.

Through a five-step experiential process, you will discover the unconscious choices and habits that create blind spots in professional conversations as well as why it can be hard to make connections and, ultimately, what you can do in every interaction to maximize your opportunities.

You'll learn tips on connecting in one-on-one situations, in small groups, and in a room full of people. Most importantly, at the end of this workshop you will have a better sense of what your personal challenges are and how to overcome them.  This class provides a lot of individual attention and will help you sort through Your networking problems.

This class is focused on people in the entertainment community who want to increase their business by learning about making connections. The class will also include a panel discussion with entertainment professionals discussing how they have created businesses built on relationships.

Seats are limited to 10.

There are an extremely limited number of seats for each profession so grab them quickly!

If you are feeling stuck or lost right now in the entertainment business, the solution is the network you make for yourself. Take the first step in building a network of people to support you as you work toward your goals.

Sign up for your spot today!

The next workshop will be Saturday  September 17th from 10am- 2pm .

The Location will be Pearl Studios room 409

Schedule 10am-1pm workshop, 1pm-2pm focused networking and discussion.

See below for what others had to say about the seminar.

"It was a fun group of people and a very enjoyable morning.  I also appreciated the simplicity of the workshop and enjoyed the exercises. The specificity with how to find ways to help others was great too... especially at parties... I got to go to one that afternoon and attempt to try stuff out."- Kristin Stewart Chase- Actress

"It was refreshing to be with so many people with great goals and aspirations.  I thought you had some great points and I definitely feel it was a good investment for me. "- Megan Hartig -actress

"I really liked the exercises with people and the review/reflection of how we did. That really helped me gained some perspective on how I was networking." - Orion Delwaterman- actor

"That was a great workshop/ Thank you! I think you covered some great topics, offered a lot of helpful suggestions, and gave me some solid structure for how I can better network. One of the best activities was actually the first one, where we interviewed our neighbors and then introduced them. I think that said a lot about where I was with respect to listening, and not making it about me. I also appreciated the fact that the information you offered did indeed cross all disciplines."- Ted Kusio- Tech entrepreneur

"I found that the way you presented the workshop was a very effective combination of lecture/discussion and practical application, and the amount of information presented in the time frame was just right, without feeling either slow or overwhelming. "- Alex Mallory -Director

"All in all - the class was very successful for me. It gave me a first hand look at my comfort and non-comfort zones.   I'd recommend the class to others for sure." - Jennifer Conley Darling- Producer

"Thanks so much for an effective workshop! I gained some special nuggets of information which will certainly come in handy. Right after the workshop I had a shmoozy holiday party to attend and I felt super comfortable. Thank you, thank you!"- Christine Miller- Yoga Instructor

"Michael's Solving For X Workshop was a well-designed and safe exercise in networking. He gave us helpful hints, then we immediately put them to practice - it was a great way to look for "open doors" and meet new friends in the industry."- Lilli Wosk- Musical Director and Vocal Coach

"Your workshop continues to resonate with me. The ideas that you planted in my head have motivated me to be more "in touch" with people in the industry. I loved that you reminded me that all people are just people; even those big scary people who seem to have all the power. I loved that you reminded me to connect to people as people; this is something I often forget when connecting with casting directors and talent agents. I loved that you promoted the idea that I do have something to offer and that the best way to approach any other person is with this in mind. It is incredibly empowering to start to see myself this way. "- Lily Balsen - actress

"I found it very effective that not only was there a visual breakdown of the topics we would be covering, but we actually got to get onto our feet and put them into practice. It was never a preachy, talkie workshop, and Everyone got to participate."- Amanda Marino- Actress

"Thank you for giving me so much to think about!
I actually think the most effective part of the workshop was the decision to take it. It put me in a different frame of mind. Situations that normally seem very closed to me, like dance classes, suddenly opened up. I don't typically know or speak to the people I take class with, but I know that every conversation begins with a smile. That's a decision that I realized I need to make in order to open the door.
The biggest thing I took away from the workshop itself, however, was an awareness of my weakness in "with-it-ness" and the tools needed to change that. It's something that I'm very in tune to when I teach but never thought to incorporate into social situations. I know it will prove invaluable. "- Alden Lapaglia- Choreographer

"Solving for X was a very empowering workshop.  It served as an excellent tool to help jump start my career and remove a lot of the anxiety that comes with networking and maintaining connections.  I would recommend it to anyone who is looking to up their game and grow their business." - Kennon Hulett- director and film editor
